Focus Sessions at the 2013 March Meeting

The DCOMP Program Committee invites you to submit short proposals for Focus Session topics and speakers at the 2013 APS March meeting (Mar 18-22, 2013, Baltimore, MD).

Topics of current interest, both practical and theoretical, will be much appreciated, as will nominations of first-rate speakers who represent a diverse cross section of the physics community.  Focus Sessions include a combination of 1-2 invited talks and contributed talks which have been submitted to the focus topic sorting category.  For additional information, see:

Proposals for Focus Sessions should be emailed by June 30, 2012 to Tim Germann ( These should include, at a minimum:
(i) focus session topic title and description (no more than 200 words);
(ii) focus session organizer(s) and contact information; and
(iii) suggestions for 1-2 invited speakers and reasoning (no more than 150 words per speaker), and their contact information.

In addition, the following information may also help the Program Committee:
(iv) references to 2-3 papers for the general topic and references to 2-3 papers for the speaker(s); and/or
(v) suggestion for another APS unit (division or topical group) for cosponsorship, if appropriate.

We look forward to receiving your suggestions!

Tim Germann, DCOMP 2013 Program Committee Chair
